Most people look forward to their morning cup of joe, but there are plenty of other things to do with coffee too. You will love each and every one almost as much as you love your steaming cup of morning coffee.
1. Home Scent
Place coffee beans in a glass candle holder, then burn a candle on top of the beans. The beans will release their delicious aroma as they get hot, leaving your entire house smelling heavenly.
2. Freshen Your Breath
Out of breath mints? Suck on a coffee bean for a few minutes and your breath will instantly smell better. Research says this is a proven way to eliminate bad breath.
3. Homemade Exfoliator
Exfoliating your skin on a regular basis removes dead skin cells, leaving your skin soft and smooth. Mix a cup of ground coffee with a 1/2 cup of sugar and a cup of coconut oil. Gently massage it into your skin, then rinse.
4. Dye Your Hair
If you’re worried about all the harsh chemicals and ingredients in traditional hair dye, use coffee instead. Combine a couple of tablespoons of coffee with a 1/2 cup conditioner. Massage the mixture into your hair and let it soak for one hour. Rinse until the water runs clear.
5. Repair Scratches
Do you have a piece of wooden furniture that is scratched. Steep your coffee, then gently apply it to the damaged area with a cotton swab. The coffee will dye the scratch and help it blend with the rest of the piece.
6. Get Rid of Smells
Your house naturally has a bad odor from time to time. You can quickly take care of the issue with coffee. Sprinkle them down your drain or place a bowl of them in the refrigerator. You can even place a sachet of coffee grounds in your trash can to get rid of garbage smells.
7. Eliminate Ants
Ants are naturally repelled by coffee and all you have to do is sprinkle it around your doorways to keep them from getting inside the house.
8. Cellulite Removal
Read any good cellulite cream and you’re bound to find caffeine. Save yourself some cash by simply mixing some coffee grounds into your lotion and rubbing the mixture into your skin, allowing it to absorb, then rinse with warm water.
9. Enrich Your Garden
Mix some coffee grounds into your garden soil to increase the nutrient content. This works for both indoor and outdoor plants and is very easy to do.
10. Freshen Your Compost
Coffee grounds are an ideal thing to add to your compost heap. It helps keep the odor at bay and adds nutrients so your finished compost is ready for the garden.
11. Wash Hands
Much like coffee grounds can help deodorize your drains or garbage cans, it can also remove stubborn smells from your hands. When you wash your hands, add some coffee grounds to the soap and suds up as usual. The grounds will help absorb some of the stink.
12. Scrub Dishes
Got some stuck on food on your best pots and pans? Add some coffee grounds to the dish. They give the scrub some extra grit for removing tough food messes. When you’re done, simply rinse the grounds down the drain.
